Remove Xbox360 Controller Driver From Mac

Enjoy2 is a nice free tool for mapping the controller to keystrokes for games without gamepad support. Unfortunately the analog sticks don't work yet with the 0.15b3 driver that /u/misconfiguration mentioned. The d-pad and the rest work. By the way, this link will always point to the latest release.

Note For information about how to install the Xbox 360 Controller for Windows, see How to set up an Xbox 360 Controller for Windows.

Windows 8.1

On a computer running Windows 8.1, you can use Devices and Printers in Control Panel to troubleshoot the controller. Here’s how:

  1. On the Start screen, select Control Panel.
  2. Select View Devices and Printers.
  3. Verify that the controller appears under Devices, and then right-click the controller and select Game controller settings.
  4. Check the Status of the controller, and then select Properties.
  5. On the Test tab, test that the controller works correctly. If there are any issues, select Calibrate on the Settings tab.
  6. If you continue to experience any issues, right-click the controller under Devices in Devices and Printers, and then select Troubleshoot.

Windows 7 and earlier versions of Windows

360

On Windows 7 and earlier versions of Windows, you can use Device Manager to help troubleshoot problems with your controller, see whether the correct items are listed, and to make sure there are no conflicts.

Controller

Note A conflict is marked by a yellow exclamation point in Device Manager.

To use Device Manager, follow these steps:

  1. Select Start, then Run, then type sysdm.cpl, and then select OK.
  2. On the Hardware tab, select Device Manager.
  3. When the controller is successfully installed, you see three entries in Device Manager. There should be two entries under Human Interface Devices:
    • HID-compliant game controller
    • USB Human Interface Device
Additionally, there should be a third entry in under Microsoft Common Controller for Windows Class:
    • Xbox 360 Controller for Windows
  4. If you see yellow exclamation points next to any of these entries, there's a problem with the installation. If there's a problem for either of the entries under Human Interface Devices, first verify that the problem is caused by the controller by unplugging it. If a hardware conflict with the controller was causing the problem, the yellow exclamation point will no longer appear after the controller is unplugged.

To resolve controller problems in Device Manager, try these solutions one at a time (move to the next solution only if the one you’re trying fails to resolve your problem):

  1. Use the built-in troubleshooter:
    1. In Device Manager, double-click Xbox 360 Controller for Windows.
    2. Select Troubleshoot, and then follow the steps provided.
  2. Remove and then redetect the controller:
    1. Right-click Xbox 360 Controller for Windows, and then select Uninstall.
    2. In the Action menu, select Scan for hardware changes.
  3. Try updating the driver:
    1. Double-click Xbox 360 Controller for Windows.
    2. On the Driver tab, select Update Driver.

Note This information applies only to the Xbox 360 Controller for Windows. For help with other gamepads or joysticks, see the peripheral manufacturer's website or support center. For information on configuring a specific game to be played with a controller, see the game publisher's website or support center.

Xbox 360 Drivers For Mac

Remove Xbox360 Controller Driver From Mac To Pc

I have recently bought a wired Xbox 360 controller and it doesn't work when plugged into the PC, even though it shows up as 'Xbox 360 Controller for Windows' at the Devices and Printers screen.
The device status under Properties says
'The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There is not enough space on the disk.'
I have tried to update the drivers through the Properties screen and got the error message
'Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it. There is not enough space on the disk.'
I have over 50GB in all the partitions of my HDD.
I have tried to download the drivers directly from Microsoft's site, the .exe gives this error message when clicked.
'This software version is already installed on this system, To re-install this software, you must remove it first, and then run Steup again from the installation media.'
I have tried to uninstall the driver named 'Microsoft Xbox 360 Accessories 1.2' in the Programs and Features screen. But I was given this error message
'An error occurred while writing installation information to disk. Check to make sure enough disk space is available.'
To put it simply, my controller isn't working, I can't update, remove or reinstall the drivers and the error messages indicated that I didn't have enough disk space even though I have over 50GB free in every partition of my HDD.
Anyone have any ideas?
